[The reason for build my personal blog]
What is freedom? Freedom is not the ability to do whatever we want—that’s privilege! Rather, it is the ability to say no to anything we shouldn’t or don’t want to do. What is freedom? Freedom is not denying any form of happiness; it means your way can be happy, and my way can be happy, and we bless each other as long as no one gets hurt. What is freedom? It is the freedom to express opinions, uphold contracts, and ensure that people cannot be coerced—that is freedom.
Since childhood, I have firmly believed that I am safe only when everyone is safe, I am wise only when everyone is wise, and I am prosperous only when everyone is prosperous. But after ten years in society, when my vague worries and beautiful fantasies were shattered when I needed protection, my sense of security disappeared.
Who will protect my freedom? Who will uphold the dignity of the law? Who can save me? The answer is no one can. Only if we join hands, shoulder to shoulder, to uphold justice in the system, fight for equal access to knowledge, protect each other’s common rights, and resolutely battle against the selfishness and greed that try to dominate everything, can we have the chance to live a happy and safe life.
[Why I decide to stop being silent?]
Some people are always worrying about nothing, and I might be a mild case among them. When I see the social issues and the injustices and tragedies that unfold, I can’t help but worry that I might also be harmed. Although the outcomes dishearten me, I choose to remain silent.
The method of solving problems is to silence those who raise them, and I cannot accept this result in my heart. At first, the suggestions people made disappeared, then the news disappeared, and finally, the people themselves vanished. I was confused about what was happening, but I chose to remain silent.
In my years of work, I’ve seen leaders arbitrarily interpret regulations and company rules, ignore established standards to punish employees more severely, and penalize everyone for the mistakes of one person. Rules set in the morning can change by the afternoon, and different people committing the same mistake don’t receive the same punishment. Yet, I still chose to remain silent.
When the system fails for some, it fails for all. When our interests are constantly being eroded, can I still remain silent?
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—
and there was no one left to speak for me.
If everyone speaks up loudly, the shadows of society will have nowhere to hide. Remember, your voice matters!
