Reflecting on that time when countless voices resonated through an era, I still feel my heart surge with emotion, as if those cries and acts of resistance have never faded away. They represented the last glimmers of freedom, thoughts that should never be silenced, and perhaps a fateful connection that urged people to reassess their understanding of facts and truth.

Over these two years, I believe that while not everyone may agree on the significance of this movement, their presence has never been forgotten. I cannot suppress my admiration for the courage and compassion they demonstrated; they took the first step, breaking the long-standing silence and igniting a spark of true possibility.
The oppression brought by governmental authoritarianism continues to disappoint me deeply. From pandemic control measures to censorship of public opinion, from institutional rigidity to the trampling of civil liberties, every coercive act seems aimed at eroding people’s independent thought and freedom of expression. These methods do not bring stability but deepen division and resentment.

I still remember the original intention behind my supportive article back then—to respect the truth, empathize with the oppressed, and express my yearning for democracy and freedom. No matter how many storms I have weathered, my resolve remains unshaken. For I know the White Paper Movement is not just a symbol of resistance against tyranny but also a mirror reflecting the inner light of every person yearning for freedom.
Two years ago, those who raised blank sheets of paper and protested silently in the face of threats showed the world the power of fearlessness. They used the simplest means to convey the most profound demands: a quest for truth, a call for justice, and a longing for freedom. Although these demands did not immediately transform reality, they planted seeds of hope.

In the past two years, we have seen some people choose silence to protect themselves and their families, others like me overwhelmed and choosing to leave, and still others continuing the fight. Every choice deserves respect, as each comes with a heavy price. But I want to pay special tribute to those who have never given up. Their persistence in truth, undeterred by loneliness, keeps the torch of resistance burning.
I cannot forget the news reports from that fateful night, the crowds captured in the interplay of light and shadow. Their eyes showed no signs of surrender, only determination for the future. Their blank sheets of paper bore no words, yet they contained boundless strength. This strength came from their yearning for freedom and their pursuit of a just society.
